What Coaching is not

 

Coaching is not same as counselling, consulting or therapy.

Consultants and counsellors  advise to solve a client’s problems whereas coaches guide their clients to their own solutions.

Therapists are experts in medical and behavioural sciences trained in diagnosis whereas coaches see their clients strengths, and areas that require further development.

Coaching is not appropriate for individuals suffering from chronic depression, anxiety, neuroses or addictions.  

Coaching clients are ‘well’ individuals who have generally accepted their past and want to put full focus on their future. They are persons who take responsibility for their lives and will benefit from personal accountability.
